Your Questions, Answered

Frequently Asked Questions
If I do not have insurance, will Doctors Hospital serve me?
No patient who presents with an emergency medical condition is denied service. For elective procedures, self-pay patients can contact our Business Office to arrange a payment plan in advance.
Yes. This is arranged through your attending Physician at the public hospital, in collabouration with the Doctors Hospital Business Office.
Yes. Uninsured senior citizens automatically receive a 10% discount once the billing process is completed (usually within 7–10 business days after discharge). Other uninsured patients may apply for assistance through the Department of Social Services.
You will receive a bill for your Doctors Hospital inpatient visit that includes all hospital services provided. Additionally, you will receive separate bills from your attending Physician and, if applicable, your Surgeon and Anesthesiologist.
An in-network provider is contracted with your insurance company to provide services at pre-negotiated rates. Out-of-network providers are not contracted, and you may be responsible for the full cost up front, seeking reimbursement from your insurer afterward.

If you are insured with a company that has a direct billing agreement with Doctors Hospital, we will forward your bill to your insurer. If not, you will be asked to pay in full and then seek reimbursement from your insurer. Once finalised, a copy of your claim can be provided by our Credit & Collections Department.

Yes. Once you register, your insurer will be contacted to confirm coverage and any co-payments or deductibles due at the time of service.
Register with both insurance cards at the time of service. Once the primary insurer has been billed, any remaining balance will be automatically billed to your secondary insurer.

Yes. Online banking is available with RBC Royal Bank, FirstCaribbean International Bank, Commonwealth Bank, or Scotiabank. For details, contact the Patient Billing Department at queries@doctorshosp.com.
