Specialized Heart, Brain, & Nerve Testing

Doctors Hospital’s ECG/END Department provides advanced diagnostic studies using electrodes to record electrical activity in the body. All procedures are performed by highly trained Registered Technologists.

Services:

Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) - Measures heart’s electrical activity. Useful for routine checkups, pre-surgical screening, or symptoms like chest pain, irregular heartbeat, or shortness of breath.

Electroencephalogram (EEG) - Detects changes in brain wave activity to help diagnose seizures, epilepsy, tumours, stroke, dementia, and related conditions.

Electromyogram & Nerve Conduction Study (EMG & NCS) - Dual test performed together to evaluate muscle integrity and detect true pain, numbness, or paralysis in arms, legs, hands, feet, or back.

Do I need a doctor’s order for imaging?

Yes, most imaging tests require a referral from your physician.

How should I prepare for my test?

Preparation depends on the type of exam. Some require fasting, while others may need you to avoid certain medications. Instructions will be given at booking.

How long will my test take?

Most imaging procedures take between 15 and 45 minutes. Complex studies may take longer.

When will I get my results?

Results are typically available to your physician within 24–48 hours.

Is imaging safe?

Yes. We use the lowest radiation dose possible for tests that involve X-ray or CT, and many tests, like ultrasound, use no radiation at all.

We offer outpatient imaging services from 9-5 on weekdays but provide 24/7 service to our Emergency Room and inpatients.
