Nassau, The Bahamas – February 3, 2026 – Doctors Hospital Health System announces two new appointments to its senior leadership team. These changes come at a time of continued organizational expansion and strengthen the Health System’s commitment to increasing healthcare leadership and execution capacity throughout the country.

Dr. Bridgette Sherman Dr. Bridgette Sherman has been appointed Chief Nursing Officer. A seasoned nursing leader with more than three decades of service in healthcare, she began her career with the Ministry of Health and the Department of Public Health. Dr. Sherman transitioned to Doctors Hospital Health System in 2015, where she brought a strong record of clinical and operational leadership

She holds a Doctor of Health Care Administration, a Master of Nursing specializing in Leadership and Management, and a Master of Business Administration. Dr. Sherman most recently earned a certification in Higher Education from the Harvard Bok School of Education. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the American Hospital Association. In addition, she serves on the National Nursing Services Advisory Committee for the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, The University of The Bahamas Nursing Education Committee, and is Chair of Doctors Hospital Institute of Learning – School of Nursing.

Kendra Sturrup Mrs. Kendra Sturrup has been appointed Chief Financial Officer. Mrs. Sturrup is an accomplished executive with more than seventeen years of experience in finance, operations, and healthcare administration. She joined Doctors Hospital Health System in 2020 and most recently served as Vice President, Northern Bahamas, where she led system-wide financial planning and supported major healthcare infrastructure initiatives, including the development of Doctors Hospital 25-bed hospital in Grand Bahama, set to open in 2026.

She holds a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and is both a Certified Public Accountant (New Hampshire) and a Chartered Accountant (Bahamas). Known for her strategic, collaborative leadership style, Mrs. Sturrup will continue to drive financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and disciplined growth across the Health System.

“As we continue to increase capacity and expand services it is critical that we have strong, accountable leadership working collaboratively across the organization,” said Dennis Deveaux, Chief Executive Officer of Doctors Hospital Health System. “Both Bridgette and Kendra bring a collaborative, accountable approach and ensures we are building capacity in a way that is both sustainable and focused on patient care.”

Both appointments are part of Doctors Hospital’s succession planning process, which involved the transition of Dr. Charles Diggiss from CEO to the role of President, and the appointment of Dennis Deveaux as CEO, effective February 1, 2026.
